met the early and contemporary <a href=\"https:\/\/vividscience.org\/index.php\/campus-envirobio\/welcome\/discovery\/science-discovery\/#\">naturalists<\/a> who study natural history.<\/h5>\n<p>Natural history is a broad study of the characteristics of the natural world.\u00a0 This includes organisms and non-living elements, and can include science discovery as well as methods from other disciplines like art and history.\u00a0 Natural history existed before formation of the separate science disciplines we have today.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\">What would you expect to see walking into a natural history museum?<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This is one of the top 10 natural history museums in the world: the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.\u00a0 You may be thinking of huge fossilized animals, galleries of displays, rocks, ancient human artifacts, dioramas, and more.\u00a0 All of these things are in Chicago.<\/p> <h6>\u00a0<\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">The movie \"Night at the Museum\" brought natural history museums to life for many people.\u00a0 Museums offer rich experiences like staying overnight, screening movies in galleries, or behind-the-scenes tours of the stored collections.<\/p> <h6>\u00a0<\/h6>\n<img left;\">Typically museums have huge collections that need to be stored and studied.\u00a0 Some items are curated for public display in galleries.\u00a0 Special exhibitions feature objects contextualized and organized by a theme.\u00a0 We will have more on these <a href=\"https:\/\/vividscience.org\/index.php\/campus-envirobio\/learning\/museums-libraries\/collections\/#\">collections<\/a> in the next section.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Unfortunately many museum trips devolve into an uncomfortable rush from gallery to gallery, dodging crowds of people, hungry and frustrated.\u00a0 These spaces are huge and designed to keep people moving.\u00a0 A successful trip requires planning, starting with a visit to the website.<\/p>\n<img src=\"http:\/\/biotas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Screen-Shot-2020-11-17-at-9.23.19-AM.png\" width=\"861\" of the museum will be the most engaging.\u00a0 This means targeting the exhibits that will be both educational and entertaining.<\/p>\n<p>For us, a trip to a museum is a big event.\u00a0 We want to make sure the money is well spent and memories are made of the collections and not concerns about how much everything costs and whether everyone is happy.\u00a0 This video shows we have had to find vents.<\/p> <h6>\u00a0<\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">In recent years, exhibits have increasingly featured the significance of microorganisms, particularly in extreme habitats like within human intestines, or deep on the ocean floor.\u00a0 \"Microbiome\" exhibits have become popular attractions.<\/p> <h6>\u00a0<\/h6>\n<img style=\"text-align: center;\">Let's take a tour through some of the most extreme habitats.\u00a0 You'll quickly see that the producers are species of bacteria and archaea that can tolerate conditions left;\">In recent decades, the search of life and resources beyond Earth has accelerated internationally.\u00a0 Many larger cities have a science museum, space museum, and\/or an observatory to display space research.\u00a0<\/p> <h6>\u00a0<\/h6>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">As far as we know, life relies on liquid water.\u00a0 Space agencies are searching for evidence of water, as well as evidence of organisms themselves: remnants of complex, constructed molecules.<\/h6>\n<img src=\"http:\/\/naturejournals.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/conditions-1024x314.jpg\" width=\"1024\"
