Happiness is a Cargo Container
With the current move to tiny houses, cargo containers are a hot property. This summer we purchased a nearly new container (one oceanic trip) to use as a studio and animal facility. In addition to the electrical, it is partially insulated to reduce temperature fluctuations. This has also dropped noise significantly. Not only are the animals calmer, it is an incredible place to think and work. I never knew how life changing it is to have a bit of quiet space; hope you find yours too!

Details
It is easy to overlook some organisms because of their threat to human crops and health. We have two species of wild rats in our yard, and they are a potential threat to our housed animals: not only disease transmission, but also bite injuries. But when we found a dead rat on the trail, it became clear we were missing the incredible details of these elusive species.

Ask a pet owner about their animals, and you can quickly get an education. Immersion of study on a single species can reveal subtle variables: data collection and analysis is an essential part of animal care. Keep a log with diets, weights, and treatments and share findings with an online pet community.

Trail Update
Mark is continuing work on our ADA trail. We are setting up stations at regular intervals to be able to sit and collect seasonal data.
We have so many animals, you can pretty much guarantee cleaning is going on every minute of the day.
Here Vladi is licking himself dry after playing in the water. One of the fun characteristics of Bengal cats is that they often like water. Their ancestral Asian Leopard Cat species can fish as well as hunt terrestrial prey.
